The team comprises three specialists. Maxine Reynolds leads the sales programme, handling resale transactions across the city. Nick Jones joins as a partner following Bidwells' acquisition of his residential agency business, Nicholas Jones Residential – established for over a decade with a good mix of quality apartments and houses in and around the Oxford area – and leads the lettings offer. Iain Powis, who joined Bidwells in January 2025, leads new homes, working with developers on the sale of new-build schemes.
Together, the three service lines give clients continuity of advice from land acquisition through to sales and lettings – a capability that reflects Bidwells' existing strengths in agency, land, planning and development advisory both in Oxford and across the wider Supercluster region.
Oxford's residential market has an acute lack of supply and continues to be one of the UK’s most in-demand markets, with long term growth in real prices expected across the built environment. Average house prices are currently £478,000, up 6 per cent over five years, according to Bidwells’ research.
Additionally, Greater Oxford's population could potentially grow by 44 per cent over the next 15 years – from 240,000 to 345,000 by 2040 – requiring an estimated 40,000 additional homes. For buyers, sellers, landlords and developers, that means sustained activity across every part of the residential market.
The new residential agency is supported directly by Bidwells' land and development team, led in Oxford by Zanna Bowles, which provides access to planning intelligence, development economics and pipeline visibility – a capacity that standalone residential agencies cannot replicate.
Bidwells already has a substantial presence in Oxford spanning science and technology advisory, planning, project management, rural agency and advisory services for clients including major Oxford University colleges and Harwell Science and Innovation Campus.
David Bentley, Head of Residential at Bidwells, said: "What we are building in Oxford is a fundamentally different proposition to most residential agencies. Maxine, Nick and Iain each bring deep local expertise in their respective disciplines, but it is the combination of sales, lettings and new homes sitting alongside our land, development and planning teams that gives clients something they cannot get elsewhere. Oxford is one of the most supply-constrained markets in the country and the demand fundamentals are only strengthening. We are delighted to welcome them to the team and to be building this offer here."
The launch of Bidwells' Oxford residential agency marks a significant step in the firm's Nexus growth strategy, which aims to double the size of the business through regional expansion, service diversification and investment in high-growth sectors.
