East Dartmoor Landscape Recovery Area

A DEFRA-backed landscape recovery programme enabling businesses to invest in large-scale nature restoration across East Dartmoor.

East Dartmoor is one of the most diverse areas in the Dartmoor National Park and consists of habitats such as temperate rainforest, which covers only 1% of the globe and is home to species such as the IUCN Red Listed pied flycatcher and the nationally rare blue ground beetle. The East Dartmoor Landscape Recovery Area (EDLRA) allows businesses to invest in nature, and therefore our shared future.

We are working with landowners and partners such as Dartmoor National Park, Devon Wildlife Trust, Natural England, the National Trust, and the Woodland Trust and others. Our partners will help us to create and enhance habitats across over 3,000 hectares of this very special landscape.

This DEFRA-backed flagship programme will enhance biodiversity, empower communities, and build long-term environmental resilience across East Dartmoor.
