With a background as a Chartered Surveyor, Virginia appreciates and understands the commercial pressures of development in terms of costs and timescale.

She has extensive experience across the country, working on schemes ranging from rural estates to urban developments for both public and private sector clients. Each project enhances her understanding of managing change in the historic environment, allowing modern development and heritage assets to successfully coexist.

Virginia has advised on some of London’s most recognisable heritage sites, including projects for the British Museum and Tower Bridge. Her work consistently earns trust, from design teams, and clients, who rely on her to unlock difficult permissions, and from local authorities who value her integrity. Her expertise in energy infrastructure has secured permissions for battery energy storage sites and solar farms across the country, including a sensitive project within a Registered Park and Garden.

One of her achievements was guiding the restoration of a Grade II house in Rochester Conservation Area, once linked to James II. The project involved rare Tudor panelling, 18th-century joinery and a stunning staircase. Virginia negotiated a residential enabling development as part of the permission to secure the preservation of these significant features and the house..
