Her clients have ranged from homeowners to property developers, and the Ministry of Defence. She enjoys the challenge of appeals and public hearings, with her most recent appeal statement pertaining to a refused retrospective application in relation to illegal works across a Grade II designated terraced property, within a conservation area. Based in our Cambridge office but working on projects across the UK, Sarah’s background is in both property development and landscape architecture, and this has helped her to gain a great understanding when it comes to various stakeholder issues and needs, in conjunction with the relevant legislative context, which must be considered.

She enjoys working with clients to ensure she is achieving the best outcome for the project, and the historic building. For example, gaining consent to reinstate a family dwelling which had been subdivided into a HMO of 27 units. Sarah loves finding out the history of places and buildings and facilitating their preservation in a way which accommodates 21st century needs.

Interesting projects include construction of new prisons on a disused airfield, removal of first floor within a Grade II designated structure to provide contemporary commercial use internally, Capital Park Cambridge – using significance assessment to inform potential life sciences development.

Our scheme approval was most certainly down to Sarah’s well-crafted statement.
