Sam is a Chartered Forester, Chartered Surveyor, and an RICS Registered Valuer. His work covers strategic forestry asset management, valuations, and investment appraisals.

Sam originally developed his interest in the rural sector after spending holidays assisting on a family member’s farm in Cumbria.
The provision of strategic advice, and valuation and investment appraisals undertaken by Sam is a niche skillset in the sector but not unique at Bidwells, which is one of our strengths.
Sam has worked across the UK and developed particular expertise in forestry in Scotland. Variety is inescapable with instructions variously involving new planting opportunities, high habitat value ancient woodland, and highly productive commercial conifer plantations across Scotland, England, and Wales.
Forestry valuation and purchasing work is Sam’s primary focus - looking at a property and understanding the opportunity and working closely with the client achieve their objectives.
Sam is an assessor for Institute of Chartered Foresters and the Vice-Chair of Confor and STTF mid-Scotland regional groups.
