With a strong academic research background, Raye brings analytical thinking and fresh ideas to her project, adding real value to peatland restoration.

During the operations season, Raye manages projects on the ground, working closely with contractors and ensuring restoration projects are delivered to the highest standard. She also uses her knowledge and experience to train operators in best practice restoration techniques.

When she’s not on site, Raye assists with prospective project surveying and design. Using mapping tools and her experience, she helps shape schemes from the beginning, and is well versed in Peatland Action funding, and Peatland Code project development processes.

Raye enjoys seeing how landscapes change over time. Being present on site means she can spot issues before they become projects, write detailed reports, and keep projects moving forward.

Raye takes pride in being part of an industry that is focused on protecting nature. Working with like-minded colleagues who care about science and the planet makes her job rewarding.

From large-scale, estate-wide peatland restoration projects in Scotland to tree surveys in Oxford, and tackling invasive species surveys in The Chilterns, Raye has built a wide knowledge base, which she shares with her team, helping projects succeed.
