Neil is a rural chartered surveyor and fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers specialising in estate management and professional services for corporate clients.

Neil joined Bidwells in spring 2015 having previously been based in Worcestershire working for a regional firm of Surveyors, Valuers and Auctioneers where he was involved in a wide range of work including estate management, valuation, agricultural and residential lettings, planning and auctioneering.

Now part of the Rural Team in St Albans Neil specialises in the management of mixed use portfolios and the associated professional work for corporate clients such as property developers and mineral companies. Drawing on his wide range of experience and by taking a strategic approach Neil maximises the output of his clients’ assets whilst ensuring the portfolios are managed in the most effective way to meet the clients’ objectives, be it development or mineral extraction.

Given the nature of the portfolio’s Neil is experienced in advising clients on a range of matters including landlord and tenant, acquisitions and disposals, alternative uses and general management for a range of property types including agricultural, commercial and residential.

Recent projects

  • East West Rail. Advising a client and negotiating directly with Network Rail with regard to a large section of the line and numerous crossing points.
  • Providing Landlord and Tenant advice and managing relationships between the two in relation to a large scale development project. Advising the client in relation to termination of tenancies and ongoing management issues in relation to access, surveys and compensation.
  • Complex Lease negotiations for properties such as a Woodland Burial Ground, an Electrical Sub Station and numerous lakes for Watersports and Fishing.
  • Agricultural and Commercial rent reviews/negotiations. Adding value to clients’ portfolios through successful rent review negotiations and ensuring rents are at the appropriate level
