Mike Lord

With a background spanning commercial property, science and technology, and heritage buildings, he enjoys solving complex challenges and helping clients making informed decisions with confidence. 

His experience covers the full breadth of building surveying. Mike manages projects from inception through to completion while also providing professional advice on building surveys, party wall matters, licences to alter, schedules of condition, reinstatement cost assessments, planned preventative maintenance and technical due diligence. With hands-on project management and technical knowledge, he delivers solutions that work.

Mike enjoys getting to know his clients, understanding the needs of both the building and end users and finding the most effective way forward. Open, approachable and an active listener, he builds strong relationships and brings stakeholders together to achieve the best outcomes. 

Over the course of his career, Mike has worked across commercial property, warehouses and logistic facilities, as well as high-end residential developments. Working closely with landlords, property managers and tenants has given him extensive experience balancing commercial priorities with the needs of the occupiers.

Mike advises landlords across science parks and business parks on complex refurbishment and fit-out projects. He is also trusted to work on listed and heritage buildings, regularly supporting organisations including Oxford colleges and the National Trust. His understanding of building pathology allows him to identify the root cause of problems and develop practical, long-term solutions.
