Guy has circumnavigated Cambridgeshire, delivering some of the most complex science, technology, commercial and residential schemes. Today, having worked on Phase 1 of Cambridge Biomedical Campus, and now leading Phase 2, he’s also helping to deliver Cambridge’s new world-leading Children’s Hospital, and Cambridge International Technology Park.
Whilst the planning system is founded on evidence, it’s not a pure science and involves communities, their concerns, hopes and feelings. Utilising his experience of working for local government, Guy works hard to find the balance between these factors, shaping compelling strategies to answer the ‘why here, why now?’ questions that achieve success for his clients’ developments.
With sustainability and carbon offsetting driving more tenant decisions, Guy has a passion for making a positive, valuable difference and enhancing the places we live, play and work.
He’s worked on many complicated schemes, including overcoming a public inquiry into the Dunsfold Park new settlement, yet maintains a calm and sensible view to cut through the detail and focus on delivery, with the aim of bringing about betterment from schemes of which we can be proud.
Guy is MRTPI accredited and a member of HBF and LPDF.
Cambridge was identified in a keynote speech from Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, as an area that could supercharge the UK’s position as a science superpower. With the city at its centre.
