Derek has over 40 years’ property experience. He is responsible for advising landowners in connection with a number of strategic urban extensions in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
Derek specialises in valuations of commercial and residential properties, residential development sites, development option and promotion agreements, and planning appeals including public inquiries, hearings and written statements for section 78 appeals, enforcement notices.
Other areas of expertise include certificates of lawfulness, rent review negotiations and third party submissions and, advice regarding restrictive covenants and assessing value loss of amenity under section 84 of the law of property act 1925 as amended.
Derek has also undertaken; examinations in public for local plans, commercial property lease renewals and expert evidence in county court proceedings, compensation claims and valuations and expert evidence in the lands tribunal (the upper tribunal lands chamber), and expert evidence for arbitrations and court proceedings.
