Darren joined Bidwells in April 2017, from a Global Multi-Disciplinary Practice with 3 years’ experience and having successfully passing his RICS Assessment of Professional Competency in December 2016.

Based in the Commercial Building Surveying team within the Cambridge Office, Darren is responsible for a variety of project related work managing refurbishment and repair work to residential, office, industrial and retail properties.  Furthermore, Darren provides a range of building surveying professional services including Dilapidations, Reinstatement Cost Assessments, Party Wall etc. Act 1996 matters, Pre-Acquisition Building Surveys and Defect Diagnosis.

RECENT PROJECTS

Trinity College – Office Refurbishment

  • Design, specification and management of the refurbishment of a former laboratory circa 17,000sq.ft. spread over two storeys to open plan offices from inception to completion prior to reletting.  The works comprised of extensive strip-out of former cellular spaced, finishes and asbestos containing materials, installation of new LED lighting and suspended ceiling grid, installation new raised access floors and carpet finishes and redecoration throughout.

 Private Client – Pre-Acquisition Survey

  • Pre-Acquisition Building Survey of a four-bedroom three storey Victorian town house in Chelsea on the market for £3.35million.

 Private Client – Party Wall Surveyor

  • Appointed under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 by both neighbours to act as Agreed Surveyor to safeguard their interests during the proposed extension and loft conversion.

 Sony Computer Entertainment Ltd – Dilapidations Repairs

  • Provision of tailored advice to the Tenant and management of dilapidations repair works to 24,000sq.ft. of office space, reducing the financial expenditure by in excess of 50% of the Landlords claim.

 St Paul’s Girls’ School – Residential External Repairs & Refurbishment

  • Design, specification and management of the external repairs and refurbishment of a Grade II Listed six bedroom, three-storey residential property.  The works included replacement of slate and lead roof coverings, external decoration, cleaning of the facades, brickwork repairs, re-wiring of electrical installations, redecoration, replacement floor coverings and installation of new sanitaryware.
