Chris Thyer
Partner, Energy & Renewables

Working with a wide variety of clients throughout the UK, Chris is helping them realise the potential of renewables.
Over the last decade, he has been involved in projects across a range of renewable technologies – including onshore wind, solar, anaerobic digestion and biomass as well as complementary energy installations such as EV charging, micro-nuclear, battery storage and synchronous condensers.
In this fast-paced sector, Chris is up to speed with the changes in policy, technology and funding regimes and draws on his ten years’ experience to advise, negotiate and manage his client’s projects. He enjoys a challenge and brings a positive attitude to each instruction.
In taking a long-term view, Chris fully considers the implications renewable developments may have on a landholding. He is particularly skilled at understanding a client’s specific concerns and aspirations and finding workable (and profitable) solutions to their unique circumstances.
Thriving on the fact that he is playing a part in addressing the climate crisis by facilitating ‘green’ projects, Chris also draws on his experience as a land agent to structure business models, income streams and agreements that really deliver for his clients and the environment.

Renewables for Landowners – policy and opportunities
We’re partnering with Farmers Weekly and Davies and Partners Solicitors to bring you a free webinar which will provide essential updates on the current policy and opportunities in renewable energy, specifically for farmers and landowners.

Winds of Change: Opportunities for landowners in renewables
With a recent ‘loosening’ of planning requirements in England, landowners need to be ready to take advantage of the long-term rental opportunities that onshore wind can present.
