Ben
Taylor

Partner, Residential Development

Ben has 10 years’ rural agency and investment experience, specialising in the sale and acquisition of rural estates and commercial farm holdings.

Ben is responsible for rural agency activities primarily in East Anglia and the East Midlands. He has played a key role in a range of high profile disposals and acquisitions, including nationally renowned rural estates as well as large-scale commercial arable and livestock units.

He has particular expertise in handling negotiations with vendors and purchasers (national and international) of agricultural investment property, with specific interest in the sale of land for high value crop production.

He has successfully advised a wide range of buying clients (institutions and high net worth individuals) on strategic land purchases in the UK and abroad for long term capital growth and development. These deals have been both on-market and private (in some cases highly confidential and sensitive) transactions.

In 2014, Ben was one of the principal agents acting for The Wellcome Trust in their successful acquisition of the Co-operative Farms portfolio for £249 million – one of the largest transactions ever of its kind.

Ben also has responsibility for the management of some significant privately owned Estates in the Eastern Counties, and has been involved in overseeing several rural development and diversification schemes, as well as renewable energy projects, including the delivery of one of the largest groundmounted Solar PV projects in the UK.
