Alison is a Chartered Town Planner with over 9 years’ experience of working within the private sector in the South East Region. She has worked on a range of medium and large scale residential and commercial proposals on behalf of rural estates, national house builders and private investors.
Alison has led multi-disciplinary consultancy teams in the preparation and submission of major mixed-use development proposals across the South East region. She provides planning appraisal and strategy advice from the outset, supporting projects with detailed advice throughout preparation, submission and determination. Alison has also worked on a number of appeals in respect of major residential proposals which have been determined via the Public Inquiry procedure.
Cambridge Science Park:
Alison is involved in providing planning strategy advice regarding development options and forward planning. Alison is working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplined team, the local authorities and other stakeholders on a number of major new build R&D buildings.
Brookgate Land Limited and Network Rail:
Alison is involved with proposals for the regeneration of the former Chesterton Sidings site through a major mixed-use development around the new Cambridge North Station. This has involved promotion through the local plan and Area Action Plan (APP) and securing planning permission for an early phase of development, including a 217-bed hotel and circa 10,000 sqm of B1 office space.
Network Rail, Cambridge North Station:
Alison worked as part of a multi-disciplinary consultant team to secure planning permission for the new Cambridge North Station which opened in May 2017. This has formed a major new transport hub within the north of the City and acted as a catalyst for the regeneration of the surrounding area.
Alison has been advising Jockey Club Estates since 2015 in relation to the Hill Gallop which secured approval at Committee in September 2017. As part of the project, Alison prepared the planning and consultation statement in support of the scheme, project managed the application and is in the process of negotiating the planning conditions with Forest Heath District Council.
Alison has secured Reserved Matters consent in relation to two major development parcels at the Trumpington Meadows development site in Cambridge, for 122 dwellings and a Local Centre including 40 dwellings and 450 sqm of A1, A2, A3 or D1 use. Alison advised the client on how best to bring forward development within the framework of the Outline consent as well as on the discharge of the necessary pre-commencement conditions
