Alastair has 19 years’ experience in the property sector. He has extensive experience of rural property valuations, sporting, agricultural and coastal property management including budgeting and financial appraisal.
Alastair is also involved in undertaking professional consultancy work and projects on behalf of private, corporate and public-sector clients, including valuations, compensation claims and feasibility studies.
He has been involved in all aspects of Highland Estate Management, including in-hand farming operations and liaison with farm tenants.
Valuations of property have formed a significant part of Alastair’s work, including valuations of all types of rural and coastal property including agricultural, residential, coastal asset portfolio, sporting estates and salmon fishing.
He has provided valuations for both capital and rental value of properties and for secured lending, annual portfolio, taxation, sale and purchase.
Valuations have covered an area from Moray, the north Highlands, the Western Isles and Orkney and have been carried out for a variety of clients, including individuals, family trusts, pension funds, lending institutions, and the public and non-governmental sectors. This includes Barclays, Clydesdale Bank, Lloyds Bank and Coutts & Co.
He is Clerk to the Beauly District Fishery Board and a member of the Scottish Land and Estates Highland Regional Committee. He is also a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and is a RICS Registered Valuer
