Leading property consultancy, Bidwells, has appointed a new Group Partner to lead its Strategic Land Planning Division in London and the South East of England.

Jamie Sullivan brings extensive 20-year industry experience of greenfield Local Plan promotion as well as securing planning permission for large scale complex brownfield regeneration proposals. He also has significant experience on project appraisals, policy evaluations, and influencing national planning policy.

Sullivan joins Bidwells after over a decade at Iceni Projects, where he led schemes across London and the South East, advising housebuilders, land promoters, investment funds and developers.

Prior to this, Sullivan held senior roles in both consultancy and policy, beginning at Tetlow King Planning before moving to Cushman & Wakefield (formerly DTZ), where he led on Local Plan representations, housing needs assessments, appeals, with a focus on complex planning, regeneration, and strategic land projects.

Jamie also brings extensive experience of Green Belt land promotion strategies and is a leading commentator on the implications of emerging Grey Belt policy.  Having worked on the proposed Chase Park (Enfield) Green Belt release and over a dozen other London Green Belt sites, he holds extensive experience of Local Plan promotion in the Capital.

His portfolio spans residential, education and third age living projects, where he has successfully promoted sites and led planning applications to unlock sustainable development opportunities.

Jamie’s expertise in navigating the complexities of the Green Belt is underpinned by his policy background. During a secondment to HM Treasury’s, Jamie contributed to national policy reforms in planning, housing, and compulsory purchase, working across government departments to shape strategic policy direction.

Operating from Bidwells’ Mayfair office, he will work across the firm’s business divisions to serve existing clients, drive new project opportunities, and further strengthen Bidwells’ strategic planning capabilities as the business advances towards its goal of doubling in size by 2030.

Jamie Sullivan, Group Partner at Bidwells, said:

“Bidwells have an outstanding reputation for unlocking complex sites and delivering transformational projects. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience to Bidwells’ Planning team in London, helping our clients navigate the evolving planning landscape, while helping to shape projects across both the green and grey belt and unlocking the full potential of land and development opportunities.”

Mike Derbyshire, Head of Planning at Bidwells, said:

“Jamie will be a brilliant addition to the Planning team as a Group Partner, based in our London office. His extensive experience and proven track record in delivering complex projects will strengthen our ability to provide innovative and pragmatic planning advice to our clients. Jamie’s expertise and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow our presence in London and support development opportunities across the UK.”
