Bidwells has completed the merger of Creative Places LLP into the firm, strengthening its Science & Technology capability and further enhancing its expertise in R&D and innovation-led real estate.

Creative Places, an award-winning specialist consultancy focused on R&D and innovation spaces, was established with Bidwells in 2009. Following the merger, the Creative Places team will continue and operate as part of Bidwells’ Commercial Department, enhancing the firm’s Agency and Consultancy services for clients operating in the innovation economy.

The integration brings additional depth of expertise across the UK’s key innovation markets, with a particularly strong track record in London. The combined team supports occupiers, investors and developers in the delivery of complex, science and technology-led real estate.

Together, the team has advised on a wide range of major science, innovation and mixed-use projects across the UK, including in London, Cambridge, Oxford, Manchester, Warwick, Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow, helping to deliver high-quality space for research-led organisations.

Saul Western, Partner and Head of Commercial at Bidwells, said:

“Science & Technology is a core pillar of our growth strategy, and this merger is an important step forward for the business. Bringing Creative Places fully into Bidwells strengthens our ability to advise clients across the innovation economy, combining specialist expertise with the scale and reach of the wider firm.”

As part of the merger, Liam Nicholls, John Sommerville and Seb Denby join Bidwells as Partners.

Liam Nicholls, CEO of Creative Places, added:

“Creative Places was established to focus on the unique requirements of R&D and innovation-driven real estate. Becoming fully integrated with Bidwells allows us to build on that foundation, working even more closely with existing and new clients to deliver ambitious projects across the UK’s leading science and technology clusters.”
