Working primarily with landowners and developers across England and Wales, Andy works on a range of utility scale projects spanning onshore wind, solar, battery energy storage solutions, ancillary grid services and hydrogen. With so much opportunity for renewables, clients are seeking experienced professionals with a track record in the sector.
Andy has had a diverse career in the renewables sector. Working initially as a lawyer specialising in project finance, acting for lenders and developers, he then moved developer side. This varied experience has given him a comprehensive understating and unique perspective of energy and renewables.
His combined legal and development background has also given him a detailed skillset and he is, specifically adept at negotiating land rights through exclusivity, HOTs and option and lease stages. Throughout his career he has worked on over 1GW of onshore wind projects, as well as working on delivering one of the first enhanced frequency battery energy storage services to the National Grid.
Committed to the large-scale climate challenge, Andy is excited to be a part of realising positive change through energy and renewables solutions, bringing forward innovation by implementing new technologies as well as utilising more established technologies.
Andy is a highly competent and expert. The advice that he provides to complex challenges is logical and practical. As a Project Manager, his advice whilst working together was invaluable and helped de-risk key elements of prospective developments
Andy and the team really understand the development process and are immersed in the sector. The quality of the work we receive is first-rate.
Andy speaks the language of developers which means communication is straightforward and he understands what we need and how to help us move matters forward.
Andy Fewings recently discussed this with a group of experts from across the renewables sector to gauge what they felt were the main barriers.
Renewables are key to decarbonising the electricity system by 2035. But what are the challenges and how do we get there?
The UK government might lift restrictions on onshore wind projects in England, which currently act as a ban on these developments. This brings huge opportunities for landowners. In this article, we talk you through where to start.
Switch on to the potential of Onshore Wind
What are the challenges to reaching these decarbonisation goals? That was the topic of discussion at the second panel at our Natural Capital and Renewable Energy Investment Conference.
