Jamie delivers complex peatland restoration from concept to completion.

Having worked on Scotland’s peatlands over the past three years, he moves confidently from early scoping through to detailed design and field delivery.

Jamie has shaped over 1,000 hectares of successful restoration applications, leading on GIS, data and spatial strategy. He works within Peatland Action and CNPA frameworks, turning complex requirements into workable plans. Jamie has surveyed more than 2,000 hectares of peatland, covering peat depth, condition and herbivore impact, with 1,000+ hectares assessed for protected species, with a focus on otter and water vole.

In Sutherland, he helped drive a 450-hectare restoration across severely eroded ground, balancing design, regulation and species constraints. Beyond peatland, hehas supported wind farm planning impacts on forestry in Galloway. In southwest Scotland, he took a project from early site visits to final delivery, managing design, budgets and quality. He now leads the complex design of 1,000 hectares of peatland restoration across six sites.

As a relatively nascent industry, it is important to stay abreast of developments in the field and Jamie frequently meets with NatureScot, the IUCN peatland team, as well as research bodies and other firms, to ensure that practice, policy and science are aligned.
