James, who lives locally, brought the pub last year to ensure it provided an improved pub for the community.

The pub, previously owned by Greene King, struggled to generate business due to the location of the premises.  It relied on its proximity to Chelsea Football Club with the pub’s main income coming from football fans on match days.

Greene King decided to dispose of the pub after Chelsea announced the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge and its closure for an extensive period.

Bidwells helped Blunt Pubs Ltd secure permission to build a single-storey rear extension as well as demolishing and reconstructing a toilet block.

Blunt Pubs is planning to preserve the pub’s character and 1930s interior as well as improve its menu to ensure the Fox and Pheasant’s commercial success.

Simon Myles, Planning Associate at Bidwells, said:

"It was pleasure to work with Blunt Pubs and we look forward to toasting this success at the bar with James sometime soon!"
