A comprehensive analysis of student housing, this project utilised our expert knowledge of Cambridge colleges to inspect and offer recommendations for improvements.
The client instructed us to undertake an extensive condition overview for the college's ongoing refurbishments. The purpose of planned preventive maintenance is to preserve a property’s condition and prevent problems from occurring.
To conduct this service, we surveyed a percentage of rooms and areas within the college, looking at elements such as window glazing, ventilation, condition of fabrics, the kitchen and bathroom facilities.
As we work closely with many Cambridge colleges, our approach was to grade the student dormitories using other colleges as a benchmark for quality of accommodation. This provided a thorough report on the general expectation of student housing across the university, and how St Catharine’s compared.
