A pub on the site of a historic flour mill required extensive refurbishment and alterations to create a stunning restaurant space and luxury accommodation.
A converted flour mill – complete with an original Grist mill wheel – required considerable renovations to open an exceptional restaurant. The client also wished to extend the existing building to accommodate 200 guests and build a large terrace for customers to enjoy. We worked closely with the client to steer the proposal through the complex planning application.
A building of merit located within a conservation area, our scheme utilised our team’s broad knowledge of working with historic buildings, making sure to preserve the unique legacy of the site. To address the complex planning policies and secure permission, we held three pre-application meetings.
Planning permission was achieved, and the client successfully completed the refurbishments and extension. The new Arrow Mill pub is one of the most popular restaurants in the region and, due to its success, we are now pursuing planning for a new 14-bedroom accommodation block within the grounds.
