State-of-the-art facilities for a leading independent school in Hertfordshire

An existing 1920s school building was no longer fit for purpose and the client instructed us to demolish the structure – carefully working between several other Grade Listed buildings – and project manage the build of modern facilities, which included several classrooms, a science lab, library, sports hall and kitchen and dining areas. To minimise its ecological impact, the new building was required to utilise the latest sustainable technology. 

The school is located within the green belt, therefore we advised how to navigate the restrictions associated with this while liaising with the local planning authorities. We conducted ongoing meetings with teachers and building users to ensure that the new structure was exactly as desired.
