HERTFORDSHIRE UPDATE

North Herts

A Local Plan 2011-2031 was submitted for examination on 9th June 2017. Examination of the plan began in November 2017 and closed in March 2018. Draft Main Modifications have now been published. They are due to be considered at a Cabinet meeting on 10 December, prior to public consultation. 

Luton

On 7 November 2017, Luton Borough Council adopted the Luton Local Plan (2011-2031)

Stevenage

A holding direction was issued 13th November 2017 on the emerging Local Plan prior to adoption.

East Herts

Holding direction has been lifted and Plan has now been adopted.

Welwyn Hatfield

The Local Plan was submitted for examination on 15 May 2017. Hearing sessions have been ongoing with numerous questions and issues raised by the Inspector.
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council have review and supplemented their evidence base work on matters relating to Green Belt Assessment and site selection. The Inspector reopened the hearing sessions in early November.

Hertsmere

A recent Executive meeting confirmed the Preferred Options consultations (set for October-November 2018) to be replaced with an ‘Engagement Exercise’, with all sites put out for public comment. This is currently underway. The Draft Plan (Reg 19) consultation is expected no earlier than the end of 2019.  Dacorum, Hertsmere, St Albans, Three Rivers and Watford Borough Council have begun work on a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) for the South West Hertfordshire area.

St Albans

The Local Plan publication Draft consultation has now closed and there is an intention to submit the plan in March 2019. Dacorum, Hertsmere, St Albans, Three Rivers and Watford Borough Council have begun work on a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) for the South West Hertfordshire area.

Three Rivers

 Regulation 19 is expected in mid to late 2019. There is a current consultation on sites.  Dacorum, Hertsmere, St Albans, Three Rivers and Watford Borough Council have begun work on a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) for the South West Hertfordshire area.

Dacorum

The next Consultation is to be the Draft Plan Reg 19 in Autumn 2019.  Dacorum, Hertsmere, St Albans, Three Rivers and Watford Borough Council have begun work on a Joint Strategic Plan (JSP) for the South West Hertfordshire area.

Watford  

Issues and Options Consultation has now finished. Further draft and final draft consultations anticipated.
