After some four and a half year examination the Inspector’s Report was published on 3 September and found the Plan sound subject to a host of modifications. Cambridge adopted the Plan on 18 October 2018. The Council is now to immediately begin the preparation of a Joint Local Plan with South Cambridgeshire District.
The situation is similar to Cambridge City because there was a parallel examination process. Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire District have become one shared planning service under the banner of Greater Cambridge. The Councils are now preparing a Joint Local Plan. A Call for Sites is likely to take place in Spring 2019. Formal consultations are set to take place in the Autumn of 2019, 2020 and 2021; examination in 2022 and adoption in early 2023. Now is the time to be readying sites for promotion into the Plan.
The Fenland Local Plan was adopted in 2014 and covers the period from 2011-2031. The Plan is not expected to be subject to an early review.
The Huntingdonshire Local Plan to 2036 was submitted for examination to the Secretary of State on 29 March 2018 as part of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough combined authority. Hearing Sessions for the Examination of the Local Plan took place between July and September 2018 with receipt of the Inspector’s report expected in July 2019 and adoption in September 2019
The Inspector’s report is expected in January 2019, to be adopted in March 2019.
The emerging Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State in February 2018 and EiP held between June and October this year, with adoption in December 2018.
