In a written ministerial statement of 1 November 2018 the Government announced its decision to create a new unitary authority that will cover the whole of Buckinghamshire, excluding Milton Keynes.  The first elections are due to be held in May 2020.

Milton Keynes

Plan:MK is currently at examination.  The Inspector has indicated that he is conformable with the proposed housing target and housing trajectory, he has queries regarding the assessment of sites and reasonable alternatives.

Wycombe

The Wycombe District Local Plan was submitted for examination in March 2018.  The Inspector’s report is anticipated in due course.

Aylesbury Vales

The emerging Local Plan was submitted for examination in February 2018. The Council have published the Inspector’s interim conclusions dated 29th August 2018 which suggest that main modifications are required and an early review mechanism.

Chiltern

Is preparing a joint plan with South Bucks.  There is a delay to the plan on Duty to Cooperate issues with Highways England and the need to model highway impact on motorway junctions. Work to be scoped and completed before final draft of plan can be completed.
