Richard is a chartered surveyor with over 24 years’ experience in property management. He brings strategic thinking, energy and coordination to substantial mixed portfolios in the institutional and private client sector.
Richard is head of the rural estate management team. He is particularly involved in institutional and private estate consultancy.
Previously as a director he led the estate management and professional practice department of Lane Fox, covering Southern England.
Richard has excellent knowledge of best practice, coupled with a systems driven approach.
As strategic and development Partner he secured the management of a 4,000 acre rural portfolio in Hampshire won by competitive tender in 2012, on the basis of enhanced asset performance resulting from planning, promotion and disposal.
In 2014, Brasenose College became the first Oxford College to appoint Bidwells to manage their multi asset endowment portfolio including farms, development land, marinas, retail and office investment property.
In 2014 Richard was part of the Bidwells team that successfully purchased the 20,000 acre Co-op Group Farms estate on behalf of The Wellcome Trust. Richard subsequently advised the Trust on a long-term strategic approach to add significant value.
