Senior Rural Surveyor

Jessica is a Senior Rural Surveyor, working with our Valuation, Rural Development and Planning, and Compulsory Purchase and Compensation teams in Cambridge.

She has been involved with a number of portfolio valuations, including those for institutions, charities and local authorities. This work has included valuing a range of agricultural, residential and commercial property in locations across the UK, including traditional estates, farms, country houses, equestrian and racing related property, horticultural property, intensive livestock units, commercial storage facilities and renewable energy schemes. She assists in providing specialist valuation advice for a wide range of purposes such as taxation, secured lending and strategic planning.

Jessica also works on a range of planning projects including preparation and submission of Permitted Development applications for change of use of agricultural buildings to residential, as well as some strategic planning reviews of rural sites. She has been involved with pre-submission planning discussions regarding Highways and Ecology as well as having experience in Enabling Development for Heritage sites.

An overview of Jessica’s recent projects includes: annual valuations of a substantial portfolio for a major institutional landowner; valuations for secured lending, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, expert witness and insurance purposes; coordinating pre-planning surveys; site appraisals for residential and commercial development opportunities; preparation and submission of planning applications, management of a Trust owned rural portfolio including agricultural land, equestrian properties and Environmental Stewardship schemes.  Jessica is a member of our expert ‘Oxbridge Growth Corridor’ team.

Jessica joined Bidwells in 2015 having graduated from Harper Adams University with a degree in BSc (Hons) Rural Enterprise and Land Management.
