HAT-TRICK FOR RICS

PROFESSIONALS

THREE members of Bidwells staff have been celebrating this week having passed their specialist assessments to become Chartered Surveyors.

Dr Darren Hirst, Tim Barratt and Andy Turnbull will now be able to use the professional designation MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) - an internationally recognised and respected mark of excellence and integrity – having undergone an enhanced selection process.

As MRICS, the trio will be working to the highest professional and ethical standards and guided by best practice and continuous professional development. As a globally recognised professional body, RICS aims to effect positive change in the built and natural environments including the development and management of land, real estate, construction and infrastructure.

However, Darren, Tim and Andy decided to go a step further and apply for membership through the specialist assessment pathway. Darren’s focus was in the field of land and resources and both Tim and Andy specialised in rural, with particular competencies in forestry.

Speaking on behalf of the three newest members from Bidwells, Darren Hirst said:

“At Bidwells property consultants, we strive for the highest professional standards in whatever we do and to gain the MRICS accreditation is a fantastic recognition of our dedication to doing the best for our clients.

“It’s also a great personal achievement for us all to be recognised by the RICS for our impact and authority within our specialist areas of work.  It can be challenging at times balancing the demands of servicing our clients and our own personal development, especially during these unprecedented times, but taking the time to apply ourselves and striving to become chartered surveyors has been hugely rewarding.”

Darren is a partner within the rural team at Bidwells with specific responsibilities for managing Crown Estate Scotland’s marine portfolio. Tim and Andy are partners within the firm’s forestry team and are currently experiencing exceptional growth in this sector through forestry and timber sales, management and investment. They are now both dual chartered, being existing members of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
