Chris Carey, Partner and Head of Residential at Bidwells has been handed the prestigious honour of the lifetime achievement award at the Cambridge News Property Awards.

The awards, which are now in their second year, recognise great service, professionals, organisations and developments around the region.

The life time achievement award is presented to a property professional who has driven positive change in the commercial or public building sector over a long period of time and made an outstanding contribution within the property sector.

Throughout the course of his career, Chris’s notable achievements include the sale of the first £1M house in Cambridge in 1996 - he has since sold more high valued properties in the city than any other agent.

Chris has been instrumental in building Bidwell's residential division, driving it to grow into the leading property sales team in Cambridge.

After almost 35 years at Bidwells, he has announced he is to retire from the Partnership at the end of 2016.

Chris said:

After 35 years at Bidwells, I have decided to start a new chapter in my life. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to build my career at such a highly-respected firm and I am proud to have played a part in the growth of the residential team and to have created a brand synonymous with quality and professionalism.

We are pleased that Chris will continue to work as a consultant from 1 February 2017.
