Bidwells Planners

move up the ranks

The 2016 Planning Consultancy Survey 2016 is an annual survey of planning consultancies in the UK published by Planning Magazine.

Typically, responses are received from 160 consultancies covering members of the Royal Town Planning Institute and other planning fee earners.

Between 2011 to 2015 the survey results have remained quite static on the number of chartered town planners employed at c.2,000.

The returns show a range in the size of consultancy fees for planning services from an annual fee income under £300,000 to over £50m.

In 2015 Bidwells was joint 21st as employer of 25 chartered town planners, having been 21st for the previous 2 years.

In the 2016 survey Bidwells has moved up to 20th place, employing 30 chartered town planners out of office locations including Cambridge, London and Oxford.

Bidwells has experienced an overall growth in planning related services covering residential development, mixed-use and strategic development, food and drink sectors, environmental impact assessment and heritage advice.
