We’ve retained our place at the summit of EG’s Cambridge office disposals league table for the 8th successive year.
The leading property title collected data for the city’s office disposals in the period 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018 and ranked its agents.
Cambridge’s Business Space Agency team topped the table doing 48 deals in that period, eight more than second-placed Cheffins, and 11 more than it completed during the previous 12 month period.
Bidwells acted on space totalling 345,879 sq ft - a 58 per cent share of the market. The average deal size dropped to 4,500 sq ft, a 24% decrease on last year. Bidwells’ average deal size was 7,206 sq ft.
Our latest Business Space research, released in July, found prime office rents had broken the £40 psf mark for the first time, rising 7.9% over the last 12 months and reaching levels previously not expected until 2022.
Will Heigham, Partner, Head of Office Agency, said:
“We’ve not seen the huge deals of previous years but we have seen sustained activity with more deals completed across the board. Cambridge remains a hotspot for both emerging and relocating science and technology companies and its ecosystem continues to evolve and become more complex.
“We expect this high volume of deals continue with rents also continuing to rise as long as high-quality space remains limited by a lack of new supply".
