Retailer failures providing much needed space to the market

Bidwells has released its Out-of-town Retail research paper.

In the out-of-town market, both rents and yields stabilised in the first half of 2018, driving improved total returns across most of the Bidwells region, due largely to good income returns.

Retailer failures and restructuring have pushed the vacancy rate up to 6.3% at the end of 2018 H1. This is providing much needed space to a supply-starved market with active requirements across a range of sectors despite the backdrop.
