Modern Slavery & human trafficking Statement 2019
This statement is made as a result of the implementation of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Bidwells LLP is a Limited Liability Partnership incorporated in England and Wales with registered number OC344553. The Registered Office is at Bidwell House, Trumpington Road, Cambridge, CB2 9LD (Bidwells, We or Us). Bidwells is a professional services firm providing property and estate management advice to clients and is regulated by the Royal
Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). In addition to RICS, Bidwells also has employees who are members of and/or are individually regulated by various professional bodies including:
- Institution of Civil Engineers
- The Law Society of England & Wales (& Solicitors Regulation Authority)
- Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists
- Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
- Chartered Institute of Taxation
- Institute of Chartered Foresters
- Royal Institute of British Architects
- Royal Town Planning Institute
- The Institute of Agricultural Management
Bidwells has offices in England and Scotland only, with no international offices or presence.
The services Bidwells provides to its clients are predominantly office or site-based (sites being located in the UK).
Bidwells' supply chain in relation to services consists on the whole of other regulated professional services (Chartered Surveyors, Law Firms, Accountancy Firms and Banks). Bidwells considers these to be very low risk in relation to slavery and human trafficking so takes no specific action in relation to these relationships.
The majority of other services supplied to or on behalf of Bidwells are from the construction industry and other services associated with the property (domestic, commercial, rural and forestry) industry including the management of such estates for clients. Bidwells uses externally accredited contractors related to the property industry and to the estate management side of our business to ensure they have the requisite accreditations and are appropriately qualified for the roles they are asked to undertake. These services are again UK based and Bidwells considers them lower risk areas of activity and so takes no additional steps over and above our supplier approval process. Given what Bidwells understands to be a low risk profile of anyone supplying us with services being involved in slavery and/or human trafficking, we believe our current procedures and ability to rely on regulatory oversight in relation to professional services are sufficient in this regard. Given this low risk profile, no specific training is provided or undertaken by our staff in relation to these matters.
In relation to the management of estates, Bidwells does not directly employ anyone to undertake work on the estates. Any work required to be undertaken on the estates would ordinarily be undertaken by Bidwells' client directly employing such people as are required or instructing a third party contractor.
In terms of goods supplied to Bidwells, the majority of goods will be goods for use in an office environment. Occasionally Bidwells will be supplied with goods for use outside an office environment, for example "personal protective equipment".
Given what Bidwells understands to be a low risk profile of suppliers of goods, no specific action in relation to these goods is undertaken and no specific training is provided or undertaken by Bidwells staff.
