University of East Anglia

Norwich

Bidwells UDS team have produced a Landscape Strategy and Development Framework Strategy for the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich.

UEA is famous for its iconic and listed 1960s architecture, designed by Denys Lasdun, and for Norman Foster’s Sainsbury Centre.

During the early planning of the University in the 1960s, the Past President of the Landscape Institute, Brenda Colvin, was involved in the development of the masterplan, set in a dramatic area of parkland in the Yare Valley. However, no comprehensive Landscape Strategy has since been implemented. The Landscape Strategy has helped inform the later creation of the Development Framework Strategy.
