Prepared a Vision and Development Document to guide the development of a very sensitive site in the curtilage of a Listed Building and adjacent to historic parklands and to seek to overcome previous local objections to the area’s development.
What we did

Prepared and submitted a hybrid planning application for a highly innovative development project on land the University owns, on the edge of Earlham Park, Norwich.

Managed the Discharge of Conditions process.
Result

Detailed planning permission for the Enterprise Centre building and outline permission for an additional building(s) for business research and education use.

An exemplar low carbon sustainable building constructed to Passivhaus Standard. The first building on a University Campus in Europe to achieve this.

The building was officially opened in 2015 and has been shortlisted for the RTPI Excellence in Planning Awards 2016 and BREEAM Awards 2016.

It has also won the Guardian Sustainable Business Award 2016.
