Redevelopment of a redundant brownfield site in the Bedfordshire Green Belt to deliver sustainable development of new homes, community centre, public open space and a community trust.
What we did
Secured detailed permission for phases of development
Engaged locally with stakeholders including representatives of the local community
Planned for delivery of housing, community building, public open space, children’s play areas and public footpath connections
Reuse of a redundant brownfield site within the Green Belt in a growth area
The development includes affordable housing of which some are managed by the Community Trust, ensuring that the houses are retained by the Trust for the community
Development has achieved a positive impact on biodiversity having worked with the RSPB to manage and improve the broadleaf woodland areas and associated wildlife
This year we have made considerable progress towards our Aspirations 2018 targets in our continued focus on contributing to economic development and creating vibrant, healthy communities wherever we work. Achieving these aims whilst protecting and enhancing our natural environment, developing our people and engaging with our customers on sustainability is at the heart of what we do.
