portfolio management

for Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation

Bidwells was instructed to provide services and advice in respect of LGCHF’s rural portfolio, including strategic advice and the management a number of agricultural and equestrian lettings.

What we did

  • Managed the agricultural tenancies (both Farm Business Tenancies and Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies) and equestrian lettings. The managed land is also within a Higher-Level Stewardship (HLS) agreement, one of the largest in the country
  • Provided strategic advice in respect of the portfolio and LGCHF’s strategic aims, which include a commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of the town’s residents
  • Completed Basic Payment Scheme application for in-hand land
  • Brought together a team utilising Bidwells’ in-house expertise in a number of sectors
  • Advised on the restructure of the equestrian lettings to free up buildings for alternate uses

Result

  • Tendering the main Farm Business Tenancy (the highest value publicly marketed agricultural letting in the country), securing a significantly increased rental income
  • Lease agreed for a battery storage site at an initial rent of £30k per annum
