Bidwells was instructed to prepare and submit a full planning application for 46 affordable dwellings and publicly accessible open space in Great Gonerby, Lincolnshire.
What we did
-
Promoted the site through residential allocations through various representations to South Kesteven’s emerging new Local Plan
-
Led extensive pre-application discussions with South Kesteven District Council to reach agreement on layout and design considerations, prior to submission of an application
-
Led extensive local engagement including co-ordinating a public exhibition of plans prior to submission of the application
-
Prepared and submitted a full planning application for 46 affordable dwellings and publicly accessible open space
-
Negotiated design, viability and technical matters with the Council and consultees resulting in a recommendation to the Council’s planning committee that the application should be approved, subject to planning conditions and completion of a Section 106 Agreement
-
Lodged a planning appeal against the refusal of the application and resubmitted a second full planning application
Result
-
Secured full planning permission for 46 affordable dwellings following approval of the resubmitted application by the Council’s planning committee
-
Following the issue of full planning permission, we successfully negotiated with the Council and the Planning Inspectorate that the appeal would be withdrawn following the end of the 6-weeks challenge period and to avoid both the client and Council acquiring abortive costs
