Bidwells was instructed to deliver a Cat A office refurbishment within a redundant first floor area following on from a previous dilapidations claim.

 

 What we did

  • Advised the client on best practice in bringing a disused space above an old betting shop back into use for the Peterborough office market 

  • Undertook the roles of Lead Designer, Contract Administrator and CDM Principal Designer 

  • Compiled a scheme to the client’s budget, which also accounted for all necessary works to provide a compliant building

 

Result

  • Managed a specialist asbestos consultant, alongside the principal contractor, to identify and remove all asbestos materials from the property in two phases, ensuring the site was safe during construction works and that all legacy materials were removed 

  • Advised the client on all matters concerning the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and the impact on the project to deliver a compliant process driven project 

  • Provided the client with a Cat A office space, ready to market for a single occupier, by forming a new entrance in keeping with the building and without overpowering the ground floor shop unit
