What we did
Advised on the feasibility design of the new multi-faith space, covering Stage 3 design advice, budget costing and procurement options
A fundamental part of the design process included understanding the varied requirements of the future occupants and how the spaces needed to adaptable for use by different faiths at any one time
Provided a turnkey design solution to take the project successfully through planning
Managed the appointment of a contractor on a single stage competitive tender to deliver the Stage 4 design package to fruition
The project was delivered on programme, over a 14-week period. This was time critical for the client as the existing facility was due to be demolished and early closure was on the client’s critical path with both time and programme implications if missed
The final design met the original brief of creating a versatile facility, with the ability to be rearranged to form four smaller rooms or opened up into one large room
Stakeholder management was key to the project’s success as there were several invested parties both from within the university estate and the end users. This ongoing engagement enabled the team to deliver the required quality whilst managing the budget and programme.
The client and end users were extremely happy with the product delivered and have a modern and versatile space capable of meeting their requirements
