In 2008, the Cambridge Mosque Trust (CMT) purchased a brownfield site on Mill Road, 800m from the existing mosque. The site was formerly a furniture repository within a Victorian residential area. The new purpose built mosque is a first for Cambridge and includes a community garden, Islamic garden, atrium space, café, kitchen, teaching space, male and female ablutions, prayer hall, mother and baby space and residential accommodation for Imam and student residents.
