Listed Building Consents

Great Shelford

FOR private client

Five Listed Building Consents secured for unauthorised works at a Grade II listed property.

What we did

  • During the sale of the property, a number of unauthorised works were identified which were required to be regularised before the sale could be completed

  • The works involved external and internal items, including the installation of bathrooms, electrical work, and alterations to internal decorations

  • Five applications for Listed Building Consent were submitted, covering different aspects of the works. Each application was accompanied by a thoroughly researched Heritage Statement which robustly justified the proposals in heritage terms

  • Negotiation through pre-application stages and through the formal application process resulting in consent being obtained for all applications, enabling the sale of the property to be concluded

  • We negotiated with the council to secure all five Listed Building Consents to regularise the legal position of the works

  • We also discharged the relevant conditions, which allowed the sale of the property to proceed
