Preparation of a Heritage Statement to accompany an application for Planning Permission described as “Residential development of 13no. 2 bed apartments in two blocks, including associated access, parking and landscaping, following the demolition of 2no. dwellings” on land at 19 and 23 Church Road, East Molesey.

What we did

  • Prepared a significance assessment to accompany the pre-application submission. The document presented an understanding of the heritage assets which may be affected by the proposed redevelopment


  • Provided a Design Parameters Report which honed the particular characteristics of the site and its context, in order to guide the process of design

  • We liaised with the project architects to create a proposal which would address heritage issues and minimise the effects of the scheme on the surrounding assets

  • We created a full Heritage Statement which contained our significance assessment of the identified heritage assets, and assessed the impact of the proposals

  • Permission was granted in 2019


  • We provided specialist design and heritage advice to enable this project to advance to meet officer objections

  • The client was delighted with the input we provided to help steer the project and secure permission
