Knockin

Shropshire

Proposals for 17 new homes on an allocated site to the centre of the historic village of Knockin in Shropshire.

The proposals have needed to respond to the adjacent Conservation Area setting and protect/ enhance the setting of a neighbouring Listed Building and Listed War Memorial. Other design considerations have included medieval archaeology, the existence of public rights of way through the site and the need to create a development that is highly sympathetic to local character.

What we did

  • We gained planning permission on behalf of the client team for 17 new dwellings of various types/ characteristics at the heart of the village of Knockin
  • The proposals have needed to respond to the adjacent Conservation Area setting and protect/ enhance the setting of a neighbouring Listed Building and Listed War Memorial
  • Other design considerations have included medieval archaeology, the existence of public rights of way through the site and the need to create a development that is highly sympathetic to local character

Result

  • The client has a 3-year permission for development of a viable site and is looking to sell the land on to developers
