FOR TRINITY COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE
Bidwells provided landscape design services for the Bradfield Centre, a new 50,000 sq ft Innovation Hub at the heart of the Cambridge Science Park. The centre will nurture scalable, high-growth business in Cambridge to create a community of 500 innovators.
The scheme takes a progressive approach to how people work, aiming to stimulate creativity and collaboration, by providing a number of flexible spaces that create a pleasant working environment.
The planting strategy ties the centre with it’s parkland setting, whilst creating seasonal interest and ecological diversification.
What we did
Submitted a full planning application and discharged all landscape related conditions.
Delivered landscape design services through RIBA Stages 1-7.
Provided monitoring services throughout the construction and handover phase
- The scheme opened in Summer 2017
- It provides a unique technology incubator facility for the park.
- The centre has created opportunities for small businesses to be based on the Cambridge Science Park, with access to shared unique facilities, including the auditorium, café and yoga room, all of which are set within a landscape that connects to the wider parkland setting.
- The scheme has achieved BREEAM Excellent accreditation.
