Bidwells was commissioned to provide an in-depth assessment of the historic Highgate School in North London.
This assessment focused on those buildings earmarked for potential future works, as the school looks to improve its existing facilities. Working with the local authority, surrounding heritage assets were also identified for assessment, including the Grade II listed Highpoint 1 and 2.
What we did
Undertook a baseline assessment of the significance of the school structures, which included a number of listed buildings
- Carried out in-depth research at a national and local level and within the school's archive, synthesising over 400 historic documents. Through this research, a detailed opportunities and constraints strategy was created, allowing the school to prioritise future work.
Clear redevelopment strategy and baseline assessment needed for the next stage of engagement with the council.
