Bidwells was instructed to provide heritage advice and prepare a Heritage Statement to accompany the application for alterations to the Grade II* Great Oakley Hall.

 What we did

  • Undertook research and analysis of historic development of the building and surrounding area

  • Prepared a Significance and Impact Assessment to assess the heritage value of the affected parts of the heritage asset and the potential impact on their significance because of the proposals

  • Provided design advice to mitigate potential impacts on heritage assets.

  • Liaised with Historic England

  • Bidwells’ involvement was to work with the client and architect team to work up detailed proposals for internal and external alterations to help improve the Hall in its use as a family home

  • We liaised with officers of Corby Borough Council and Historic England through the pre application stage to confirm agreement to a set of proposals

  • We then assembled the application for Listed Building Consent, which was granted in May 2018
