FOR national trust (south west region)
Preparation of an Impact Assessment to consider the effect of a proposed housing allocation on the setting of the heritage assets at Trengwainton Park.
What we did
We provided expert impact-assessment advice in relation to the registered Park & Garden at Trengwainton
The house and park occupy an elevated position looking out to sea, including designed views towards St Michael’s Mount
The advice offered related to the potential allocation of development land as an extension to Penzance which has the potential to impact on the wider setting of the park, including within some of the designed views from the house and terrace
We undertook an independent review of the impact assessments undertaken on behalf of Cornwall Council, and also contributed to the formation of a Tree Management Plan on land owned by the National Trust, the implications of which may alter the effects of the proposed development’s impact on the parkland.
- The team has been involved for over one year in this project, providing advice in various forms to the Trust, as required to accompany their submissions to Cornwall Council.
