Bidwells was instructed by out client Grosvenor to prepare an employment strategy to deliver an appropriate range and quantum of jobs to support a vibrant, new Garden Community of 5,000 homes in North Essex.
What we did

Undertook a desk based review of the economic policies, strategies and local economic context, and explored the potential for NUGC to provide jobs within easy commuting distance of the site

Reviewed current market and development pipeline (including discussions with stakeholders) to understand the nature of the commercial employment base in the area and the role of surrounding research parks

Engaged in discussions with local authority officers to align the role of NUGC with the economic and planning policy priorities and opportunities in the area

Calculated potential employment generated by commercial, retail, community land uses as well as job creation through home working
